The night before Michael Boylen, a cyber-security expert, leaves home for a month, Katherine - his wife of almost 20 years - informs him that she is no longer in love with him.  Emotionally blindsided, he begins his trip to France and meets a woman on the plane that draws him into a world where nothing is quite what it appears to be.

Set in the heart of Paris during the Holiday season, this romantic thriller explores the crossroads of love vs. lust, trust vs. deceit, and circumstance vs. fate.

The ending will leave you thinking about the blind spots in your own perceptions, and the illusion of normalcy that belies the everyday reality of our complex and unpredictable world.

CAVEAT was a great read--I steamed through it in two days. It was also a worthwhile read, a thoughtful--even at times, profound--inquiry into the tensions and intrigues of male/female interactions.  A brilliant debut!

I couldn't put down this book. It weaves an incredible story that captures so much of the vulnerability of men at midlife - their blindness, self rationalization, entanglement in the moment - and yet captures the female side. I love all the references to places in Paris, books, music. It provides a richness to the environment in which the story unfolds.

A page turner! Artistically and intelligently written. CAVEAT entices all the senses, captivates the mind and then twists us around and asks us to question our perceptions of everything we have just experienced. Caveat left me appreciating the simplicity in life and marriage for the beauty of what they hold. A great story with refreshing detail and imagery, thought-provoking themes and a beautiful message. This realistic and clever thriller is a must-read! Thank you for the journey!
